An important historical memory
The archive: in the course of our working history we have produced and received the most varied types of documents.
Figurines, sketches, autograph letters of famous directors, figurines, actors, singers ..., together with photos, booklets, press reviews and much more. These documents together with working tools (some ancient ones) and ancient wigs make up the Bottega Historical Archive.
A unique archive that covers a period from the end of the 800s to today. It tells the story of the workshop but also the history of the theater as well as to witness, in many cases, the personal life of many famous and lesser-known artists. It is not uncommon to find, in correspondence, even phrases or entire parts that speak of parsonal facts.
Famous artists, directors and figurines have passed from the workshop whose passage is testified in the cartecei documents of the archive of the shop. For example, we mention Franco Zeffirelli, Maria Callas, Renata Tebaldi, Fedora Barbieri, Tito Gobbi, Alfredo Kraus, Mario Del Monaco, Piero Cappuccilli, Luciano Pavarotti, Ettore Bastianini, Renato Bruson, Gino Bechi, Aldo Reggioli, Paolo Washington, Paolo Poli, Hermes Zacconi, Eduardo and Luca de Filippo, Giorgio Albertazzi, Anna Proclemer, Romulus Valli ,, Alfredo Bianchini, Alberto Lionello, Rossella Falk, Giorgio De Lullo, Eros Pagni, Anna Anni, Odette Nicoletti, Giorgio De Chirico and his brother Alberto Savinio, Mino Maccari and many, many others ... that even out of the scene frequented the shop as a meeting point to continue talking about theater and beyond.
Our archive in the project "The fashion archives of the 20th century"
The archive was recorded in the project of the "Fashion Archives of the 20th century" together with those of the Fondazione Emilio Pucci, the Gianfranco Ferré Foundation, the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum and many others. This project was developed by the Italian National Archives Association and promoted by the Directorate General for Archives. Its objective is to discover and enhance the archival, bibliographic and iconographic heritage related to Italian fashion.
The Archival Superintendency for Tuscany, in a letter registered, urges and "recommends continuing to carefully preserve the archive [Filistrucchi] because it is an important documentation of the Florentine manufacturing activity". An archive that must always be promoted more protected and safeguarded.
The inventory
Thanks to the interest and the fantastic work done by OmA, Associazione Osservatorio Mestieri d'Arte, it was possible to inventory the archive of the workshop semi-analytically and condition it. The long work of inventory has been carried out in a loving and meticulous manner by Dr. Monica Gallai.
From the inventory and conditioning of the Archive, OmA organized, promoted and created the exhibition "Zeffirelli Filistrucchi, Memorie di un sodalizio artistico". The exhibition was curated by Monica Gallai together with Gabriele and Gherardo. The documents displayed in the exhibition have been restored by Luigia Giusto.
The exhibition has been promoted and organized by Fondazione Cerratelli, Calzature Artistiche Sacchi, Foto Locchi, FEDERNAT, Lions Club Palazzo Vecchio, Lions Club Firenze Amerigo Vespucci, Opificio Toscano Economia Politica e Storia, Rotary Club Campi Bisenzio, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino
