In the past Bottega was the place of production, where, through an inseparable and very personal mixture of technique, experience, expertise, creativity and "know how", objects were created to satisfy the needs for which they were created for as long as possible. But the Shop was also the place where the younger ones were trained: observing the Master's work, carrying out more and more complex parts of work, the apprentice developed his own personal competence.
Even today, in the computer age when everyone thinks that everything can be learned with a Youtube video, we believe that training in the shop is of unvaluable importance. Here knowledge and experience are acquired through direct contact with someone who has a great competence in the subject. Through the imitation of the Master's work as a model but also with its correction where necessary.
For this reason the Bottega Filistrucchi is not only a place for the production of wigs, prosthetics and masks, but it is also a workshop accredited by the Tuscany Region (BS0983) for the training of students in the field of theatrical make-up and the production of masks. A place where you can learn the ancient work in the shop just like it used to be: combining the work of the Bottega with that of the transmission of knowledge.
All courses take place at our headquarters in Via Giuseppe Verdi 9 in Florence.
Admission to courses / laboratories will take place after interview and will only be possible at the discretion of the Bottega teachers.

BASIC MAKEUP WORKSHOP.
Total 16 hours
Maximum six students per course.
The aim is to provide the student with the first basic theoretical and practical makeup skills.
Theory and practice in this course are mixed, so that in the end the student will possess the first level of knowledge appropriate to independently create a basic makeup.
Each student will receive a basic makeup kit.
Presence is compulsory to receive the certificate of attendance.
INTERMEDIATE MAKE-UP WORKSHOP
Total 32 hours
Maximum six students per course
The aim is to create a character autonomously, starting from the work done in the basic course, using mustaches, beards and/or prosthetics and caps where they need. At the end of this workshop the student will be able to create a "character" makeup independently.
Each student will receive an intermediate makeup kit.
Participation is compulsory to receive the certificate of attendance.
ADVANCED MAKE-UP WORKSHOP
Total 32 hours
Maximum six students per course
The goal is to teach the student some special makeup effects such as cuts, wounds, burns... At the end of this laboratory conference the student will be able to realize some special effects of makeup independently.
Each student will receive an advanced makeup kit.
Participation is compulsory to receive the certificate of attendance.
THE MASK: BASIC WORKSHOP
Total 40 HOURS
Maximum six students per course.
The aim of this workshop is to teach the realization of papier-mâché masks starting from an already existing cast without the realization of the modeling in plasticine.
At the end of this workshop the student will have the first notions to create a papier-mâché mask independently.
Participation is compulsory to receive the certificate of attendance.
THE MASK: INTERMEDIATE WORKSHOP
Total 80 hours
Maximum six students per course
The aim of this workshop is to teach the realization of the papier maché masks: from the clay or plasticine molding to the realization of the cast starting from a pre-existing positive of an actor.
At the end of this workshop the student will have the right skills to make a papier-mâché mask autonomously.
Participation is compulsory to receive the certificate of attendance.
THE MASK: ADVANCED LABORATORY
Total 80 hours
Maximum six students per course
The aim of this laboratory is to teach the realization of a foamed latex masks starting from the imprint of the actor up to the final realization of the mask. At the end of this workshop the student will have the first skills for the autonomous realization of a foamed latex mask.
Participation is compulsory to receive the certificate of attendance.
